This authentic antique hand-colored map depicts Britannia, Britannia Barbara, Hibernia and Ivernia, along with the western coast of Belgium and France. Latin place names are used, and Londinium is in its place on the Thames. Both the Antonine and Hadrian’s Walls are depicted and cities and towns denoted.
A splendid cartouche in the upper right quadrant includes nine Roman coins and nine of ancient Britannia.
Condition: The print is in B condition with toning and foxing in places. Archival tape for reinforcement has been added to the center fold on the verso needs replacement.
